Rick DeGolia has more than 25 years experience as a Silicon Valley serial entrepreneur, business attorney and venture capital investor. Most recently, he was the Executive Chairman of Cimbal, Inc., an all-software mobile platform for promotions and mobile payments.

Previously, Rick was Executive Chairman of InVisM and CEO of Green Wireless Systems. He was also a member of The Angel's Forum, a venture capital partnership where he focused on cleantech and enterprise software opportunities. Earlier, he launched Apptera, where he served as CEO, then Chairman and Chief Strategy Officer, and raised three rounds of venture capital funding.

At Genesys Telecommunications, as Senior Vice President, Strategic Planning and Business Development, Rick was instrumental in securing three rounds of venture capital, managing an initial public offering of the company’s stock in 1997 and selling the company to Alcatel in 1999 for $1.9 billion.

Earlier, Rick was a partner with Wilson, Sonsini, Goodrich & Rosati, where he represented emerging growth companies in the software, retail and telecommunications industries, venture capital firms, and investment banks. During this time, he participated in more than 100 venture capital financings and 25 public stock offerings.

Rick is currently a member of several Silicon Valley Advisory Boards and a member of the Board of Directors of The Cleantech Open, Mercado Global, Cimbal, Inc., Retrofit America, Inc. and Lextron, Inc.

Rick holds a B.A. in American Studies from the University of California at Berkeley, where he graduated magna cum laude and is a member of Phi Beta Kappa. He also has a J.D. from Harvard Law School.
