At least one-third of the attendees were executives and managing directors of the leading software development companies – many who are shaping the evolution of the IT industry in Russia and Europe. The Conference had a significant impact on the IT community of CEE countries as it reached more than 1 million IT professionals and developers across Russia and Europe by providing online access to the sessions.

Dmitry Lubanov of Exigen Services was one of the conference speakers and addressed the attendees with a presentation titled “Fixed price development process for Investment banking.”
Since the fixed-price model has proven its business efficiency, this approach is gaining popularity worldwide. In his presentation, Dmitry covered several core aspects of the fixed-price development project model as it relates to investment banking-related projects run by Exigen Services. He emphasized that software for the investment banking industry traditionally features strict requirements for information security, performance, quality and operations.
The decision to determine a precise cost and schedule estimate at the beginning of the project can be challenging for both the team and the customer. Dmitry talked about how to soften the constraints imposed by the fixed-price approach and manage the associated risk that reduced flexibility for both the customer and the IT provider adds to the project.
After listing out some of the inherent risks of the fixed price model Dmitry described several risk mitigation approaches, including: taking a structured approach to requirements management beginning at the early stage of the project and utilizing Exigen Services’ proprietary methodology to quickly produce a common set of cost/effort and benefit estimates.
