Former UBS CEO Marcel Rohner Joins Exigen Capital Advisory Board

Finance leader brings global banking perspective to private equity firm’s
newly formed council

San Francisco, CA,
July 21, 2009
 — Greg Shenkman, managing partner of Exigen Capital, a transformational private equity firm, today announced that former UBS Group CEO Marcel Rohner has been named to the firm’s advisory board. Rohner brings to Exigen Capital’s newly formed advisory board 17 years of experience across a wide spectrum of positions in the banking industry.

“From his experience as head of one of the world’s largest banks, Mr. Rohner brings a unique, global perspective to Exigen Capital,” said Shenkman. “We are delighted to have him on our advisory board.”

Rohner was most recently Group CEO at UBS AG, the world's largest manager of private wealth assets, and Chairman and CEO of UBS Investment Bank, positions to which he was appointed in 2007. He was named a member of the UBS Group Executive Board (GEB) in 2002, and between 2002 and 2007 served as CEO of Wealth Management & Business Banking.

Rohner holds a Ph.D. in economics from the University of Zurich. Until February 2009, he served as vice chairman of the Swiss Bankers Association in Basel, and vice chairman of the Board of Trustees of The Swiss Finance Institute.

“In an economy where the traditional private equity levers of leverage and market multiples are no longer available, Exigen Capital’s strategy of operational transformation offers an innovative way to create value,” said Rohner. “Under Greg Shenkman’s leadership, Exigen Capital has proven its ability to benefit from difficult market conditions and create promising new businesses. I look forward to advising the fund as it continues to build its investment portfolio.”
