Exigen Services sponsors Software Engineering Forum 2011

Exigen Services participated in the 3rd Software Engineering Forum Belarus 2011 (SEF.BY 2011) that took place in Minsk, Belarus.

San Francisco, CA,
June 20, 2011
 — On May 19-20, Exigen Services participated in the 3rd Software Engineering Forum Belarus 2011 (SEF.BY 2011) that took place in Minsk, Belarus. The international event was organized by the Infopark scientific and technological association (Minsk, Belarus) and the High-Tech Park Belarus.

The Forum attracted more than 450 representatives of IT vendors and consultancies, as well as university teachers and students of university IT departments, communities, journalists, and other IT professionals from Belarus, Russia, Ukraine, Estonia, Kazakhstan, Germany, Denmark and Switzerland.

The SEF.BY 2011 program included more than 50 plenary and break-out reports, presentations, master classes, and roundtable discussions focusing on design, development, and implementation of software, mobile technologies, information security, and IT management technologies.

Exigen Services was one of the sponsors of this major IT event of Belarus software community and also delivered the following presentations:

“Exigen Services: Business Process Storehouse”, in which Damir Tenishev, project manager, Exigen Services, shared his experience with client business process automation and optimization. Damir focused on Exigen Services’ new approach to software development as it relates to efficiently accumulating and documenting the expertise in implementing (or developing) an insurance solution and enabling the cloning of this process for other implementation projects. This approach is a particularly good choice for large-scale IT transformation projects to SaaS. Business processes are divided into components and the components are implemented as SaaS. This approach allows the project team to speed up domain area analysis, accelerate the development process, simplify integration, optimize customer processes and re-use knowledge and solutions.

In addition, Damir addressed the SEF Agile roundtable with a presentation based on his own project experience – “Agile Project Assessment and Planning”, which provided an in-depth analysis of one of the most complex and effort-consuming stage of every Agile project – assessment. Damir focused on the assessment bottlenecks that typically escape the attention of Agile team members and presented the advantages of a Fixed Price Agile service package. He also described the benefits of “optimistic” forecasting and introduced methods for minimizing project assessment risks. This presentation was voted as one of the Top 10 presentations of SEF.BY 2011 according to the public poll of the event.

Serge Stepantsov, Head of Development, Exigen Services Belarus comments on the forum: “I have received only positive comments about this forum and our participation in it. The joint efforts of sponsors, exhibitors and guest speakers made this year’s event quite a success. Exigen Services considers the active participation and sponsorship of such events our contribution to the evolution of expert IT communities in Belarus and Eastern Europe as a whole. The annual Software Engineering Forum is a unique event that allows software engineering experts to share ideas and raise their proficiency.”
